In 2004 the concepts and meaning of yoga was introduced to Michelle while she was in Koh Samui, Thailand at the Yoga in Thailand facility. Mornings of Ashtanga yoga and afternoons of meditation opened many doors to more exploration. In 2012, Michelle traveled to Isla Mujeres, Mexico to fulfill the requirements and her dream of becoming a Yoga Teacher. At the 200 hr Teacher Training at Vastu School of Yoga Michelle was taught the gentle confidence to teach Hatha Yoga, Sivananda style. In 2016 she went to Ajijic, MX to Yoga Veda 200 hr Teacher Training to renew and expand on her Sivananda experience and added Ayurveda and Meditation.
Influenced by the 5 Principles of Swami Sivananda’s Yoga – Proper Relaxation, Exercise, Diet, Breathing & Thinking/Meditation – Michelle offers a refreshing and relaxing yet strengthening yoga class.
Michelle’s home is opened up as the Shala to offer students an Ashram experience. You can stay at the Shala or close by and ride your bike over for classes. After taking 2 asana classes per day and a sit down class time we will take a break by experimenting in the kitchen with Ayurvedic recipes and taking hot afternoon dips in the pool. Riding to market to buy fresh foods, dipping into a cenote, afternoon massage and walking the Tulum beach will delight your senses. This 3 week intensive Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Course will give you the confidence and a certificate to teach your own classes.
